Twisted Willow...

Welcome to my house, and how do you like the twisted willow.

And miss Nardia.

All on top of the big cupboard.

Fillet of Roo, And Salad....

Marinate some kangaroo fillets with garlic, grated lemon rind
(about half a lemons worth),ground pepper, and olive oil.
Prepare some mushrooms, slice an onion,
and make a tomato, black olive and onion salad, dress with vinaigrette.
And prepare some salad leaves.
When your ready, fry the meat, about 4 minutes a side and set aside to rest.
Then fry off the onion and mushrooms.
Toss the salad and leaves together.
Top with the onion and mushroom, then add slices of the meat.
More pepper and a squeese of lemon, enjoy.

What to cook when it's just you.....

Skin on chicken breast,
loosen the skin carefully,
and insert a mix of garlic onion rosemary and butter.

Pan fry carefully, start with a highish heat( and start skin side down)
then take it back to fairly low.
Keep an eye on it, make sure the thickest bit is cooked through.
Then serve with Rocket salad and some chutney.

The skin is beautifully brown and crispy.
(The pinkish bits are actually red onion.)

Just try and enjoy eating on your own!.....

Skype...

This morning I'd just turned on the computer and there was that bubbly noise that means someone is trying to skype you...As you can see Max has arrived safely in UK, and is now in Scotland.

Complete with over tired silly face, oh well I wanted to see both of them on my computer screen.

Stormy Weather Today...

As I came down the mountain from Marjs', these stormclouds were gathering.
I had to rush home and drag out the camera, I looked up the top of Hughes street to start with ,
but ended up on Glenfern Road looking back over Birdsland.

Coming down the hill.

Looking out past Birdsland.
Getting darker.
Strange shapes appearing.

It actually hailed and I ended up getting wet from taking shots with the window open.

Back at Birdland...

Some reflective shots, I did post them but they got lost and I've decided to re post them.

And shadow...

What's cooking on Friday night...

Take a bed of Rocket,
Add a Fennel, Red Onion and Tomato salad.
Dress with Shaved Roasted Baby Beetroot,
and top with Smoked Salmon.
Don't hold back on the Vinaigrette.

The layers.

Anticipation.

Sweet, crunchy, savoury, and the beautiful earthy flavour of beetroot,
absolutley yummy.
Add a glass of sparkling Sauvignon Blank,
and welcome to Friday night.

Departure....

Max set off on his travels Thursday morning,
He had a stop over in Korea, then on to London to catch up with Alex...and Laura, and eventually Grant.

This is me and Max at 3:30am  before heading off to the airport.

Some Beautiful Photos...

Helen sent me an email which included these amazing photos,
they were taken by a man named Clark Little,
a quote from him....
"Faith is not about everything turning out OK, faith is about being OK no matter how things turn out".
Isn't that beautiful.

They are so inspirational, artistically, and as a reflection on life.

Alex Has Been Riding A Bit Lately...On A More International Scale....

However, these pics are from back home a few years ago.

Main street Upwey, on beautiful Monte.

It was all to do with the centenary of the Anglican church,
and the first priest arriving on horse back.
(isn't he a beauty).

Back to black and white....

This is a photo of Max,
that Alex took probably in year 11 photography,
shes gone on to greater things,
but I think this was a great start.

What a beautiful boy, but then I would say that wouldn't I.
It's analogue and hand developed, nice hey.
