Walking In Sherbrooke...

Took these photos on my phone yesterday...
on a walk to Sherbrooke Falls.

Such tall trees.

And lots of tree ferns.

What's On My Bedroom Table...

I'm displaying one of my sister's (Penny Volkofsky) tissue sculptures....

It's a christening gown made from'' hand block printed'' tissue paper...

And is part of a collection entitled ''singing''....

the ''dress'' represents a young child who passed away...

Penny went to a graveyard and looked at headstones
and noted the stories of various females buried there,
and made lots of different ''dresses'' to represent their lives.

This is detail of the printing...white on white.

It's about how we have our lives...
and here (on earth) we have the right clothing or ''shell''

The clothing represents something of what we leave behind...
it's a bit like the shell of the cicada...
it reminds you of a past life...but it's gone on and it's still singing.

We too leave behind something of a shell...
but go on and continue singing.

Old Truck, On The Road To Emerald...

On Monday, while driving to Emerald
we chanced upon an old rusted out truck.

Crumbling faded glory...

The colours and textures left from years of wear are beautiful.

This is my favourite...it's inspirational colour combination.

There was also a lot of 'growth'...nothing really stands still!

Loved it!!!
P.S. these pix were all taken on my new HTC smart phone....
not bad!!!

Another Photo From Saturday....

Quiet spot at the Doongalla property just behind the Basin.
