More Ideas With The Sandwich Press...

It's just something that's worth a try...
Eggplant, Pumpkin,  Red Capsicum, and crunchy bacon stack.
Grill slices of the vegetables on your sandwich press.

Until they look a bit like this.

As they are done place them in a container with some dressing.
I've used Olive oil, Balsamic Vinegar,  some herbs from the garden and Garlic.

When you've done enough, arrange them in layers, with the Bacon broken up through it as well.
Pour over any remaining dressing, and garnish with (you guessed it ).
Blue Costello.

I enjoyed mine with some toasted Baguette...Yum.

Reflection....

Candles floating in the bird bath,
make a nice reflection.

Grilled Vegetables...

Well actually they were all cooked in a sandwich press...
Slices of Eggplant, Zucchini, and Red Capsicum, all cooked in the sandwich press.
Then layered together with some crumbled Feta, and olives.
I just re heated it all for a minute in the Microwave.

Dressed with some olive oil, Balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper.

Dinner for one in the first week of advent.

Any way these were the pics I took on a beautiful sunny morning in Paris.

View of the gate.
Part of the detail, so much gold.

Such a beautiful blue.

Beautiful lamps.

So much bling.

Looking through the bars over to Saint Chapelle.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme....

Or what I had for dinner, using herbs from the garden.
It's so wet today, I've been inside and I couldn't get outside to make a pumpkin patch.
I've had people over for a late breakfast with coffee, and made some phone calls...but one of the best things I've done is cook and eat dinner.
Hope you feel inspired.

The herbs.

Ribbons of carrot and zucchini,
microwaved and dressed with oil and balsamic vinegar.
Potatoes poached in milk with rosemary and thyme.
Two Pork schnitzels, with a slice of bacon and sage in between.
Cooked in a pan, slowly with butter,  oil, Garlic parsley and sage.
The meat juices were poured off into a small saucepan, and lemon and mustard added to make the sauce.
Then the meat was browned a bit.

Really delicious....

Whats On My Kitchen Bench....

The other morning the light was so beautiful in my kitchen, I had to take some pics.

It's actually Parsley, can you believe it?

Just one little leaf in the morning sun.

And the chillis' are still drying/waiting to be used.

Something Simple...

The Ingredients...

Broad Beans, and Silver beat, from the church garden. Egg, and Potatoes.

I shelled the beans and microwaved them with a bit f water for five minutes.

When they were cool enough I took the outer layer off...with just a bit of a squeeze.

And set them aside.

Then I cut some potatoes, and microwaved them, again for about five minutes.
I just sort of squashed them skins and all,
with Salt, Pepper, Olive Oil and some Parmesan cheese.

A view from the bench at this stage.

I heated a bit of oil in a pan and added a cut clove of Garlic
(which I removed after a minute or so.)
Put in a squeeze of Lemon Juice, and a bit of Balsamic vinegar,
When that was all wilted I put the Broad Beans in to heat through.
At the same time I poached an egg in boiling water with a bit of vinegar.
(and re heated the potatoes slightly).

The final result, ready to eat...such a simple pleasure.

Breakfast or Dessert.....

This is something for anytime really....

Sliced Pears topped with Yoghurt, Cashews, Sunflower Seeds,
White  Chocolate, and Blue Costello crumbled over the top.
And a drizzle of Berry Lemon Suryp.

With a glass of berry milk.

Delicious.
