From the Kitchen...

North face update...

This morning I put up a latice of bamboo stakes for the Broad beans and Snow peas.

Looking a bit more structured. I also thinned out the seedlings and used the shoots in a lovely bowl of soup for lunch....

It's great to have a garden Monday!

Work Dinner at The Park Hyatt...

A little while back I went to the Park Hyatt
for a work function with Mark.
I was able to take a few pix while we were there.

It's all very shiny and grand...lots of architectural features and art pieces.

This one is rather beautiful.

The entree was a Lamb roulade with salad.

The mains was either Chicken...

Or Beef...

Guess who...

Brunch

Today we enjoyed a fabulous Brunch of Bacon and Eggs, with Mushroom and Tomato.

Avocado on Sourdough and Blackened Corn.

Delicious...

Marthas' Beautiful Figs....

A couple of weeks ago a friend gave us some beautiful Figs.
 I cut almost to the base, through the middle(into quarters).
Then wrapped the base and sides with Prosciutto and stuffed the middle with soft Blue Cheese.
They were baked in a moderate oven for around 15-20 minutes ...
till the Prosciutto is crunchy.
 Then we enjoyed them with a glass of Rose

Ready for the oven.

They were really delicious...

it's just like a trip to the country...down memory lane.

Delwhinnie Wines

On the holidays we stopped at this picturesque winery, the views were stunning.

Seppelts Winery...a visit to Great Western.

The old homestead at the Seppelts property.

We went on a tour of the underground drives....

There are over 2 km of tunnels burried under the winery
and its pretty much full of aging wine and old french mould.

Certain dignitaries have private vaults to hold their collections,
 this one belonged to Malcom Fraser.

So many different tunnels and features all butied in an underground warren.

Apparently Dame Nellie Melba had a bath in Shiraz...
somewhere in this private lair, back in the day.

The old French method of making sparkling wine.

The off limits museum with limited editions of all the vintages.
Practically no one gets to enter in here.

We tasted lots of wines at the end and finished on a big note with the $100.00 bottle shiraz.
