Looking Back At Carlton....

Last weekend Marg and I decided to stay in town ...(with the whole Emma 21'st thing)...This will give you some idea of what it was like.

The view from our window...

And more of the view....

The Kitchen dining room.
And the kettle that blew out all the power when we came home to make a cup of tea, post party.
(the power was off all night, and it was as cold as a tomb.)

The bedroom...notice how thin the blankets are...

Bathroom.

The building next door
Reception,
no wonder we drove around the block a few times,
( note the signage, a small photocopy.)

Vic market for breakfast....

The food court, great coffee though.

Roof detail, nice.

Just how it looks.

Beautiful vegies.

Pretty vegies, masquerading as flowers.

Back At The Church Garden...Time For A Tidy Up

Marj and Helen and I decided to clean up the garden ...of course Ken came to help,
Suzanne called in for lunch, Karen called past, as did Carolyn and Deborah.
Even though lots of things change, every so often it's like old times.

Picking the last of the Tomatoes.

Seedlings just begining to grow.
The end of the harvest...Green Tomato Pickle comming up.

More mulch and soil, and reorganising the bamboo stakes.

Hard at work.

It all looks so much better.

Getting the ties just right.

Nice gloves Helen.

Sometimes we need to pull up a bit of rubbish and get rid of some junk to make room for new things to grow. (insert, if you wish, the concepts around old ideas or beliefs or ways of doing things.)
It's about a lot of things,  a garden has many lessons to teach.
We need to be paying attention , and be prepared to look for the simple things....
like, left over spotty but never the less useful end of season green tomatoes.

Sometimes we do things that we look back on differently...I just thought this was using what was available....

I thought at the time this was just a daisy chain.

It turned out to be a wreath.

Simple, beautiful....and an expression of love.

Always try to do the simple things,  they have special meaning in the long run.

Sometimes you only see things through the lens...

Looking back and looking forward... but I'm not really seeing much of either of them.
Alex and Max, before the big trip.
I guess thats what happens when people grow up.

Looking back at summer

At the moment its cold and miserable, They've forecast snow in the hills, and today we've already had hail. I'm  looking for at a bit of sunshine.

Some Seagulls that took my eye.
What a crazy pose...quite the contortionist.

These two were at Frankston, just outside the sand sculptures.

Such a fabulous green.

Such a beautiful blue...and such great red legs.
